Argaka
Welcome to Argaka. As you drive into Polis take the right turn signposted for Argaka and Pomos. Argaka is 8km from Polis along the coastal road. Before the village you will spot the disused Limni mine which transported copper from the area, on the left you will see the abandoned jetty where the ships were loaded jutting out to sea, a reminder of the rich past. At the start of the village there are signposts to a picnic area adjacent to the beach, an ideal place to spend the day swimming and enjoying the shade of the trees. Driving further on you come to the more modern part of the village built close to the sea or you can turn right and head up to the older part of the village. The original houses in the upper part of the village were built with hewed limestone or with igneous pebbles from the stream running through the village. 'Arkatzi' which in Cypriot dialect means stream and where the modern name Argaka originates from.

Agia Marina
The village of Ayia Marina is about 13 kilometres from Polis on the Pomos road. The fifteen minute drive is well worth it as the road follows the coast all the way to the village which sits right next to the beach. With the Paphos hills and forest on the other side of Ayia Marina it makes it a truly beautiful setting.
